 The work of Eric Wilson (1911-1947) is among the most recognisable examples of Sydney Modernist painting of the 1940s. Wilson trained at the Julian Ashton School and the Sydney Design School. He was awarded a New South Wales Society of Artists Travelling Scholarship in 1937 and later studied in London. His work is held by the National Gallery of Australia and many regional collections.
